CivicSim is an interactive civic simulation game where players
vote on policies and watch a simulated society evolve in response.
It blends political strategy, community decision-making, and
narrative world-building to explore how collective choices
shape the future.
Project Overview
Goal- Build a patron-driven civic simulation where community members vote on policies that shape a simulated society.
- Present transparent, data-driven outcomes through narrative briefs that explain how choices impact key societal metrics.
- Provide an engaging, collaborative experience where participants can immediately see the effects of their decisions.
- Core loop implemented: weekly ballots, policy voting, deterministic simulation ticks, and narrative brief generation.
- Next.js frontend and FastAPI backend scaffolded, with Patreon authentication and early results archive features in place.
- Beta development underway: provenance panels, results archive, and disclosure labels integrated; automation, analytics, and dashboards in progress.
- Complete Beta features including automated weekly ticks, patron dashboards, event systems, and news feeds.
- Prepare for production with accessibility audits, disaster recovery, LLM cost management, and communication hooks (Discord/Email).
- Expand with faction/party systems, multi-issue voting, player-authored policies, and AI-driven in-unverse newsletters.
